Active Learning and the Flipped Instruction Model

Have you heard about the latest educational trend, “flipped instruction”? Have you ever wondered if flipping is 
for you? Maybe you are already flipping and didn’t even know it! The office of Instructional and Media 
Technologies, the Division of Education, and the Dean’s Office are sponsoring a workshop on active learning and 
flipped instruction: 

Who? Anyone who is curious about flipping! Pam Gades (IMT) and Michelle Page (Div Ed) are attending for 
sure :)

When? Thursday August 15, 9AM-3PM 

Where? The Learning Studio (Studio A, HFA 45) 

What? The morning features an overview of flipped instruction and the philosophy behind it, collaborative 
problem-solving and planning, and technology tools demos; the afternoon provides time for faculty to consult 
with workshop leaders and participants and to experiment with and gain hands-on experience with tech tools. 

Why? This is a good opportunity to learn and collaborate with colleagues! FREE LUNCH! 

Space is limited so please RSVP to Pam Gades (320-589-6376) by August 6. 

Participants will receive a full agenda and a couple of resources (not too time-intensive) to prepare for the 
workshop approximately one week prior.
